Logical Religion P 1.0-- Of women, makeup and fat

Before I start, I will make two points:
1) I believe that putting make-up makes you look bad.
2) I am a business owner and I know to the fullest extent what putting a lot of money in marketing can do.

If you understand where I am going and if you are offended in any way, stop.
--------------------------------

The core of my problem with makeup is in the cliche saying- "Inner beauty"

Women, across the world, have always had different standards of beauty- even within the boundaries of India or the US. For someone growing up watching TV, beauty means being as thin as possible or at least, being thinner than their natural weight. Just stop and look around at the number of women around you - no matter how pretty or thin or fat or ugly- who are counting calories.

On the other spectrum are people untouched by TV who consider being plump good.

Why would there be a difference between the two?
-Marketing of cosmetics companies and people who like makeup, by ways of models, videos and magazines.

You can notice similar trends for makeup- with women from different cultural groups having separate notions of beauty.

Latino women, in general, always have higher standards of being sexy ( with curves- bigger breasts and hips). They are the one culture in which you will always see the deepest neck lines and most sexy dresses. They will- put on tons of makeup. They will not- starve themselves to death.

American women, in general, will ALWAYS starve themselves no matter which social bracket they come from. Bigger breasts and smaller hips are important to them. They will put on less makeup than latinos but as I said will starve themselves to the point of anorexia.

Indian women, in general, either put on a lot of makeup that does not even match. I am referring to the thick dark red lipstick with dark black eye liner mixed with mascara running down their eyes. And, how can I forget the over abundance of that liquid that is put all over the face and the red blush?

All these examples are of people portraying their outside appearances as sexy or pretty. But what makes a woman sexy has nothing to do with how thin she is or how big and pouty her lips are.

Men are attracted to women for their inside beauty. I do not mean intelligence or nature. Women who think that they are sexy, exude their sexiness and men are attracted to it. Think sexy means that you act sexy. Body language conveys more and attracts more than makeup does.

Women are beautiful.

Their hands have soft skins which you want to hold on to. Their faces, are full of light and features that make you stop and stare. Lips have the gentleness you want to kiss. Words that come out of them are soothing, the voices that make the words, fill you with love. Curves on their bodies make you want to hold them. Their skin, so soft; their eyes, so deep; their hair, so lustrous. The way their cheeks curve and meet their lips, would make you gape. Hold them, and you embrace life.

Why paint over such sweetness with makeup?

Revel in your body. Be happy in your fat- be proud of your eyesores. Be confident of your features- be glad of your skin. Love your hair, love your legs and most importantly, love yourself.

-------------------------
Personally, I have tons of blemishes and I am happy with every one of them. Starting from the freckles caused by the Miami sun to moles which just keep coming.

This entry is not me being supercilious to other women. I hope others understand and stop all this painting.

This is my religion- a logical one.

Did some event in particular instigate this holy war?

[in a robotic voice] Surrender. Resistance is futile.
[end of robotic voice]

Notions of good looks may change, trying to look good won't. [Sorry for the blinding flash of the obvious].

It is just one of those things that has outlived most things and will continue to exist, whether you like it or not. You chose to be a nonconformist, you have your own circle that appreciates it, good for you. Cold as all this sounded, I understand how it feels to have a minority view about something when you feel you are supremely right.

Btw, full marks for saying what makes the difference is how women carry themselves around, not what they are carrying on them.

hehe funny!

True that it has been around for a while- maybe my problem is with the new extreme that it has become with women. Men, generations ago used to put makeup too but it is not an extreme now.
